In 2024, an eighth-generation sake merchant envisioned transforming this historic shophouse into an inn. Located in Aomori Prefecture in northern Japan, this building has had many lives since its construction a century ago. The renovated inn will contain guest rooms on the upper level and a sake bar on the ground floor. The bar will connect to a garden shared with an existing coffee shop. The idea is to create a lively hub of community in an aging commercial district, welcoming locals and visitors to mingle in a new public space.
2024年、8代続く酒屋が、歴史ある商店をホテルに改装するという構想を描きました。青森県にあるこの建物は、100年前に建てられて以来、多くの住人が暮らしてきました。改装後の旅館は、上階に客室、1階に日本酒バーを併設します。このバーは、近隣の既存の喫茶店と共有する庭園と繋がっています。老朽化する商業地区に真のコミュニティ拠点を創出し、地元の人々や観光客が新しい公共空間で交流できる場を提供することを目指しています。
